ROTOSCOPING

Rotoscoping(roto) is an integral part of the compositing process. It is used to isolate elements from video footage and is a process that requires consistency and meticulous attention to detail. We teach you the most effective techniques to be a successful Roto artist.

KEYING

Keying is as integral to the compositing process as rotoscoping.The end result is still a Matte but it is achieved by isolating elements in footage by selecting a specific range of colors. The Matte is used to cut out an element and place it on a different background. We teach you the most effective techniques to be a successful keying artist.

TRACKING

Tracking is the process of following the movement of an element in the footage. Many effects require to be applied to a moving element hence the requirement of tracking the element. The major methods of tracking are point, planar and camera tracking. When to use what method of tracking and how, is what we teach you in this module.

COLOR GRADING

The process of Color correction & Grading is an equal Art and Science.In vfx, color corrections are applied to video elements coming in from different sources to make them look like they belong to a single frame and shot from the same camera. Color Grading is the art of giving your entire film a distinct style that conveys mood and emotion.It is a powerful storytelling tool and one that is highly sought after.

MATTE PAINTING & SET EXTENSION

Set extensions start where practical on set photography ends. They are digitally constructed to augment or extend parts of the set, often lending a grand sense of scale and adding immense production value at a fraction of the cost it would take to actually build and shoot the extension.
